Professor Scott Murray, leader of the Primary Palliative Care Research Group, a multi-disciplinary team based in General Practice at the University of Edinburgh, lead us through our programme for the day.
Scott is also a Research Advisor to the British Medical Journal, leading a “Making a difference campaign” for all people at the end of life. He also regularly visits African countries, where he used to work, to conduct training, service evaluation and research. He strongly believes we can learn from Africa about promoting a discourse on death and dying in society, so that people and local communities can be more involved in helping each other at the end of life.
