Supportive Care for the Renal Patient 2017

Thursday 14th and Friday 15th September

Hammersmith Hospital, London.

This annual multi-professional renal palliative care course uses a mixture of lectires and small group case discussions to explore end of life care for patients with renal disease. The meeting is aimed at consultants an dtrainees. Numbers are limited, so please apply early.

The aims of the conference are:

  • Exploring the interface between frailty and end of life care
  • Improving management of end of life for renal patients by increasing awareness of holistic needs and enhancing communication
  • Disseminating results of end of life research projects
  • Use of small group discussions to enable networking between renal and palliative care health professionals

  • Promoting communication between renal and palliative care health professionals
  • Improving management of end of life for renal patients
  • Improving cultural competence to avoid conflict at end of life decision making
  • Use of small group discussions to enable networking and understanding of pathways used in different renal unit
